GREATER ATLANTA YORK RITE FESTIVAL

Greater Atlanta York Rite Festival

 

When:  August 9th and 16th

               

Registration @ 8:00am, degrees begin @ 9:00am

 

Where:  Atlanta Masonic Center, 1690 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309

 

The Chapter and Council Degrees will be conferred on Saturday, August 9, 2014. The Orders of the Commandery will be conferred on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Come early each Saturday for coffee and refreshments.

 

If your Chapter, Council or Commandery is interested in participating and conferring one of the degrees or Orders, please let either myself or the Festival Secretary, Eddie Massaro, know as soon as possible.  We will be putting together the degree teams on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How much do you know about the York Rite?

 

The York Rite Companion Adept of the Temple program is an exciting by-mail self-study program through the Degrees and Orders of the York Rite of Freemasonry administered by the Sovereign York Rite College of North America. This program is offered to any Knight Templar by enrollment through the Sovereign College office.
The program offers a series of exams focused on the ritualistic, philosophical, and esoteric teachings
of the York Rite. The exams include a combination of multiple-choice, true-false, and essay questions
pertaining to information presented in the Degrees and Orders of the Rite and/or in the resource materials which are
recommended for purchase with the program.
There are five exams included in the curriculum, named as follows:

 

Exam I. The Degrees of the Capitular Rite

 

Exam II. The Degrees of the Capitular Rite
Mark Master Most Excellent Master
Past Master Royal Arch
The WORDS in Masonry

 

Exam III. The Degrees of the Cryptic Rite

 

Exam IV. The Orders of Chivalry
The Council Degrees

The Commandery Orders
Royal Master Degree Order of the Red Cross
Select Master Degree Order of Malta

The Secret Vault Tradition Order of the Temple

Registration will begin at 7 am with degree work starting at 8 am.  Coffee and donuts will be available as early as possible.

Please make plans to attend and bring all available candidates to help make this a large class.  If you have no candidates, please come and enjoy the work and fellowship.  A hot lunch will be served.

Knights Templar Educational Foundation of Georgia Scholarship

Knights Templar Educational Foundation of Georgia Scholarship

The Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Georgia provides the Scholarship for which you are applying. This is an organization of Christian Freemasons, which is dedicated to providing financial help in the areas of sight care and research, Christian ministerial education, and post-secondary education.

The Scholarship you are applying for is to aid students in 2 and 4-year colleges and graduate degrees or other post – secondary education.

All applications will be considered without regard to age, race, religion, national origin, gender or Masonic ties or affiliation.

Applicant must be resident of Georgia and a United States Citizen.

 

All applications will be considered regardless of their financial circumstances.

 

This scholarship is a one-time award for one thousand dollars ($1000.00). However you mayreapply each year and be reconsidered for another award.

 

Only those applications that are completed and submitted on time will be considered.

A sheet is provided which will permit you to keep a record as you complete your submissions.

Three letters of recommendation, from people familiar with your character and scholastic abilities, are required. Good recommenders are ministers, teachers, and civic leaders.
All information should be mailed to the address below. No e-mail or fax application or supporting documents will be accepted.

The application must be received by November 1st.
